A job for future: olive oil sommelier and panel supervisor

After the success of Armonia in the Kitchen in Italy and Australia, Olive Oil Academy in collaboration with Alma, The International School of Italian Cuisine, present two courses

Professional Olive Oil Sommelier
A top-level qualification course designed for those who wish to become not only olive oil tasters who concentrate their abilities on the classification of the product, but true experts in the selection and multiple use of olive oil
The course is conducted in English and intended for professional and aspiring olive-oil tasters, restaurateurs, chefs, producers, retailers, promoters and all those who are interested in becoming a Professional Olive Oil Sommelier.
The course aim is to train Professional Olive Oil Sommeliers who will be highly qualified and able to make the best use of Extra Virgin Olive Oil, employing their skills and knowledge through effective communication together with innovative techniques of preparation and presentation in the harmonious pairings of oil and food, with particular attention to health and nutrition.
This course will be held at ALMA, The International School of Italian Cuisine in Colorno (PR) from: 04 – 08 February 2013

Tasting Panel Supervisor (Panel Leader)
An official training course, in accordance with the I.O.O.C. regulations, to acquire the necessary competencies and skills in the selection and training of professional tasters in order to establish and lead an Official Tasting Panel for olive oil quality control, classification and certification.
A good Panel Leader must have the capacity to organize and direct the panel members and be able to manage large volumes of samples to be tested, not only for official classification but also for competitions etc.
The very important role of the highly skilled Panel Supervisor is fundamental to the Olive Oil Industry as a whole. Their expertise offers and encourages the possibility to improve product quality and thereby increasing knowledge and consumption of high quality EVOO.
This course will be held at the DOMUS la Quercia in Viterbo from: 28 January – 01 February 2013
