The yellow gold of Vetrere on the summer tables
Apulia is at the top of quality for oils and olive trees. The sisters Anna Maria and Francesca Bruni present an extra virgin olive oil that merges the Ogliarola Salentina and the Cellina di Nardò varieties with the Frantoio, Leccino and Nocellare del Belice cultivars
Growing technique: open jar of Bari. Production area: Monteiasi, Montemesola and surrounding areas of the Taranto province. Anna Maria and Francesca Bruni put all their passion and skills in this oil.
The oil is now sold in a new bottle: not the old squared format but a traditional Bordeaux bottle, with cork and safe mouth. And the label is new and suggestive, too.
The Bruni sisters are really good. Beside the great wines they produce, their oil is very good too, among the best of Apulia.
Here is the sensory profile of their oil.
The extra virgin olive oil Vetrere, from organic farming, is of a golden yellow with green reflexes and it is clear at sight.
From the olfactory point of view it is of an average intensity, with a fruity smell that recalls clear at the green fruit, with herbaceous notes.
In the mouth it is smooth and delicate, savory and sweet, with a nice fluidity and balanced bitter and spicy notes. It has a vegetable taste and recalls the artichoke. The closure is slightly spicy with almond notes.
